Zhang Xinjun graduated from the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, Master’s Degree at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Now lives and works in Beijing. Methods of measurement determine the conception of Zhang’s work; its presentation is limited by the height of his body, his body’s temperature and his endurance. The materials used by Zhang and the sites for the presentation of his work show close proximity to the dimension of the body. Scale is determined by his height and the extension of his limbs. Materials used for enclosing and wrapping adjust the differences in temperatures of the body and its environment. Endurance contrasts speed; these are his methods for sculpting his perceptions.
