¡°The 6th Gwangju Biennale 2006: Asian Art Forum¡± takes place as a part of the Ceremony and Festival for Gwangju Culture Hub City of Asia, Gwangju 2023. Thematically related to the concept of the Gwangju Biennale 2006, the forum deals with issues on Asian discourses and aesthetics in search of a new Asian identity. Long March director, Lu Jie, was invited to participate in this ground breaking forum, taking part in a panel entitled, ¡°Asian Contemporary Art and Global Networking.¡± The panel discusses the possibility of the realization of a communal vision in global culture and the development of global networks in Asia. Lu Jie¡¯s presentation, entitled ¡°Locale and Internationale ¨C Resituating Global Networks¡±, examined the Long March Project as a medium and mediator for the translation of local into the international, and the international into the local. The presentation also presents the Long March¡¯s different relations of production and discusses the development of the Long March Economy, a sustainable system of artistic exchange based upon networking and the sharing of resource.

Other participants in the conference include: Kim Hong-hee (artistic director 6th Gwangju Biennale), Wu Hung (curator 6th Gwangju Biennale), Melissa Chiu (director Asia Society Museum), and Manray Hsu (curator and critic).
