Long March Artist Guo Fengyi takes part in the 2006 Taipei Biennale

Guo Fengyi originally began drawing as a way to understand the illness of her own body. She has since been extended out into the realm of Daoist mysticism and philosophy. Her works are a re-interpretation of the mundane world. Through a response to the ¡°site context¡± and its visual representation, Guo Fengyi is able to describe a world which did not exist before. In this region, there is no ¡°us¡± and ¡°Other¡±, nor is there a third subject somewhere in-between.
The 2006 Taipei Biennale entitled ¡°Dirty Yoga¡±, attempts to use a currently popular pursuit as a symbol to explore, within the context of globalization, the conflicts that exist among different extreme values, and the various possibilities that may arise from them. The exhibition takes a look at new trends in contemporary art, and the development of a ¡°third way¡±, that is at once hybrid and nomadic. The exhibition is curated by Wang Jun-jieh and Dan Cameron.
