Artist: Tang Song and La Mu (performance)
July 23 每 August 24, 2006 at the Long March Space
May 4, 2006 每 Artist Tang Song traveled to Danba County in the western portion of Sichuan Province and planted 100 hectares of sunflowers in what the local Tibetans call ※Valley of Beautiful People§ on top of Laiyi Mountain. At the same time, the artist has asked a friend to plant 200 sunflowers beneath the high voltage powerlines in front of the Tongxian County Art Museum.
From July 23 to August 24, the artist will send La Mu, a Tibetan woman which he met during his stay in ※Valley of Beautiful People§, to the Long March Space in Beijing, where she will begin her career as an ※artist§.
Beginning the day of the opening, La Mu will create paintings in the Long March Space. Throughout the course of the exhibition, she will not set foot outside of the Long March Space.
