Xiao Lu, Fifteen Gun Salute, performance, installation, photography; 1989-2003
Using the narrative strand of her historical work, artist Xiao Lu expresses her experiences of events since 1989, examining and scrutinizing the conflict and contradictions between life, family, and society, directly and concisely confronting her own illness and hardships through her work. At the same time, she questions the idea of “art as a lifestyle for artist”, who is art history written for, and what type of influence does it have on artists, and the art scene.
