Wang Gongxin, 45¡ã Dinner Table, video installation, 5¡¯00¡±; 2006
The work uses the method of ¡°rewind¡± and a detailed philosophically
poetic method to deconstruct everyday life, reminding viewers
of the instability, salience, and impermanence of the relationship
between existence, consumption and being consumed. The work provides
a starting point and basis for a thorough consideration of the
contradictions between humankinds will and reality, a message
that extends far beyond the visual presentation of the work itself.
