Sending
off the Long March:
In Commemoration of the Mothers on the Long March
Jiang
Jie
1.
Make some realistic sculptures of babies.
2. Take these sculptures on the road of the Long March
and carry out their adoption at various places.
3. Every process of the baby's adoption will involve a
certain degree of psychological hardship for all those
who are involved: mother, parents, and artist (photo documentation
will be made).
4. Once an adopter has been decided, the work will belong
completely to this individual.
5. When the adopter receives the work, an agreement must
be made to take a picture of this baby on that day of
every following year from then on (in an identical manner
every year).
6. The pictures from every year will show that the work
(a baby sculpture) will not change, while the appearance
of the adopter will change along with the passing of time.
The baby's growth will be made apparent as it is reflected
upon the adopter.
7. Keep a record of the adopter's contact information
and keep correspondence periodically.
