Independent Project Space
The Long March Independent Project Space is
located within the courtyard of the newly renovated Long March
Space. The space provides a venue for Chinese and international
artists and curators to realize independent works as part
of the Long March project. Artist and curators are invited
to submit proposals for projects to be realized within the
space. The following conditions apply to all projects the
Long March selects for the Independent Project Space:
1. Artists may act as their own curators or they may invite
someone to curate the show.
2. The display period for independent projects is 4 weeks,
including installation and de-installation.
3. The Long March will provide the costs of the venue, electricity,
security, storage, and publicity during the period of the
display.
4. Materials, production, installation, and de-installation
costs will be the responsibility of the artist. Poster design,
invitations, installation, opening reception, etc, are the
sole responsibility of the artist.
5. The Independent Project Space must be returned to its
original condition after the display period is over.
6. The Long March requests one copy of the any work produced
for its own archive. The work will be displayed in future
exhibitions in China and internationally involving as part
of the Long March Project.
7. All publications and future displays involving the work
must include mention of the Long March as the first site
of display.
8. All proceeds from the exhibition will be put towards
the production of an annual catalog documenting the projects
in the Long March Independent Project Space.
9. Proposals are accepted from Chinese and international
artists regardless of race, nationality, or gender.
