The Long March Foundation sponsors Yang Jiechang: Lohkchat!! at Centre A, Vancouver

On October 25, 2003, Yang Jiechang: Lohkchat!! opened at Centre A, Vancouver International Centre for Contemporary Asian Art. Yang Jiechang was born in Guangdong Province, China in 1956 and has lived in Paris since 1989. Trained in classical ink painting, his own technique involves a radical form of ink painting: he works with solid surfaces of black, mixing different papers and qualities of ink. In recent years he has moved into installation work, addressing contemporary themes with large-scale drawings, video and photography. Lohkchat!! is a multimedia installation with video projection, sound, floor tapestry, one large photograph and a thumbnail cinema catalogue. The Long March Foundation is one of the major sponsors of the exhibition.
